Waves of Sound and 900 Years of Care
How do members of the Connevans Team spend their time when they're away from Bridge House? They're a small group of people with a wide range of skills and interests! Here's one example: for many years Richard, our Customer Support Manager, has been a member of Barts Choir, which is the largest professionally rehearsed choir in London. He's currently on the Board of Trustees, helping to maintain and develop the choir's programme of activities and concerts.
The Choir provides a unique opportunity for anyone who enjoys singing (there's no audition) to rehearse together regularly and perform concerts with professional orchestras and soloists in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall.
Barts Choir was founded by a group of nurses at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1965. The close link with Barts continues to this day and will reach a crescendo with an exciting concert on 9th July at the Royal Albert Hall, marking the Hospital's 900th anniversary. It's been quite a few years since the Choir last sang at the Albert Hall so everyone is very excited to be returning for this big celebration. They'll be singing Vaughan William's Sea Symphony (high up on Richard's list of favourites!) and helping to support the vital work of the Barts Charity. Other members of the Connevans Team are planning to be in the audience - perhaps we'll see some of you there, or you might even like to add your voice to the choir..?!
